Hewlett Packard Enterprise has announced that its made-in-India servers are now being deployed at large scale to meet the demands of its Indian customers. The servers are designed to support a range of applications and workloads, with the objective of allowing organisations to optimise their IT infrastructure and gain a competitive advantage in the current digital landscape.

The announcement follows HPE’s “Make in India” plan, which the company shared in July 2023, in collaboration with VVDN Technologies. The servers are produced at VVDN’s facility in Manesar, Haryana.

According to a joint media statement, VVDN, in collaboration with HPE, has established its manufacturing facility in Manesar in “record time and it is now operational at full scale”. The companies prioritised automation, quality and control of operations during the eight-month set-up period.

Together, the companies aim to produce around $1 billion worth of servers in the first five years of production.

Som Satsangi, senior vice president and managing director of HPE India, offered his appreciation to the government and the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology for the Production-Linked Incentive scheme. “Their vision has encouraged OEMs like us to establish a manufacturing footprint in India,” Satsangi said, adding that “HPE remains committed to driving innovation, fostering local talent and contributing to India’s economic growth.”

According to HPE, the Printed Circuit Board Assembly through surface-mounted technology is key for server manufacturing, and the company’s capability enhances the value of its servers.

“This further strengthens the company’s ability to serve its government and public sector customers by being a trusted and preferred supplier,” HPE said.

“Our collaboration with HPE is a significant contribution towards India's goal of becoming a global manufacturing powerhouse,” said VVDN CEO Puneet Agarwal. “Together, we are establishing advanced manufacturing capabilities in India that reflect our commitment to local expertise and an Aatmanirbhar Bharat,” he said.
