If you intend to fly out of Mumbai in February and March, plan in advance. The city’s airport runways will be shut from Feb. 7 to March 30 as part of maintenance activities.

A representative for the GVK Group, the operator of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport, told BloombergQuint in response to an emailed questionnaire that the intersection of the runways will be recarpeted, or repaired, during this period.

The representative said that the airport will be shut between 11 AM and 5 PM every Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday during the period. Nearly 230 flights will be cancelled, though medical flights will be permitted beyond hours of closure, according to the representative said.

The airport will remain operational March 21, on Holi, the representative said.

Flights to Delhi, Goa and Bengaluru are expected to witness the most cancellations.
