We recently visited the research and development centre of Varroc Engineering Ltd. in Pune and interacted with its senior management. Following are the key takeaways from the visit:
Varroc is ready with its PMSM two-wheeler traction motors, controllers, on-board chargers, battery management system etc. and is already supplying most of these components to Bajaj Chetak electric vehicle from June,
the company is ready with metallic parts for EV transmission systems like shafts and helical gears, which would add ~1.5 times /unit versus metallic business’ current addition of Rs700-800/unit through valves,
the company has added Bajaj Auto Ltd. as its customer for supplying electronic control units recently, after adding Royal Enfield a couple of years back,
Varroc is working on advance driver assistance system products in the form of eternal/internal cameras/sensors, driver drowsiness sensors, vehicle GPS tracking systems etc.
