This travelogue covers our visit to Hyderabad and Visakhapatnam where we visited the branches of 10 non-banking financial companies/housing finance companies.
Within vehicle finance, we witnessed a strong momentum in used vehicle finance and collective efforts being made to further rein in asset quality by March 2022.
Within gold finance, demand is still muted and which has influenced the current competitive landscape. We expect some rationality in gold loan pricing from April 2022 onwards.
Residential construction activity has picked up further in the last six months and mortgage demand is healthy across key markets. Asset quality in housing finance is exhibiting QoQ improvement in Q4 FY22.
Small and medium enterprise lending has witnessed significant improvement with better risk appetite. Segments such as hotels, real estate and construction have started CY2022 on a strong footing with improvement in demand visible across businesses and segments.
