We recently met the management of JSW Energy Ltd., the energy vertical of JSW Group.
JSW Energy is among India’s leading power producers, with a total installed capacity of 4,559 mega watt spread over five locations across India.
Currently, 70% of its power capacity is thermal based, with the remaining being hydro. Around 80% of its capacities are backed by power purchase agreements, and the rest is sold on spot through exchanges.
The company has laid out aggressive growth plans to increase its power generation capacity from ~4.8 giga watt to 10 giga watt by 2025, and further to 20 giga watt by 2030.
All future capacity additions would be through renewable energy sources.
