Here are the key highlights from Day 2 of the 5G spectrum auction:
Reliance Jio may have made an additional bid of Rs 50 billion on the 3300 megahertz and 1800 MHz band, while Bharti Airtel Ltd. may have bid Rs 6 billion to top up spectrum in the 1800 MHz and 2100 MHz band.
RJio has possibly increased bids in the 3300 MHz band to the max cap of 1100 MHz, or 22 blocks, in eight circles.
On Day 2 of the auction, additional bids of Rs 60 billion were received in the 3300 MHz, 1800 MHz, 26 GHz, and 2100 MHz bands, taking the total bid to Rs 1.5 trillion.
Uttar Pradesh (East) has been the first and only circle to see excess demand in the 1800 MHz band, with an 8% price increase from Day 1 of the auction, due to possible bids from both RJio and Airtel and limited spectrum.
We expect the final results by July 28, 2022.
