Indian Rupee Depreciates Sharply Against The U.S. Dollar

Rupee opens at 81.38, depreciating 28 paise against the U.S. dollar.

The Indian rupee depreciated sharply against the U.S. dollar, as investors poured into the safe haven.

The rupee opened at 81.38, depreciating 0.35% or 28 paise. It closed at 81.10 on Tuesday.

Intraday, it depreciated by 0.58% to a low of 81.57. It closed 0.25% lower at 81.30.

The rupee had hit a record low of 83.29 on Oct. 20.
