A cornerstone of Safir Anand’s investment strategy is to spot changing trends. And for that, he reads consistently about diverse themes.

Value Migration by Adrian Slywotzky remains his favourite book. His learning: an investor can make maximum returns by betting on themes where the value is migrating.

Anand cited examples of Alkyl Amines Chemicals Ltd., Laurus Labs Ltd. and Avati Feeds Ltd.

No one knew about amines when Alkyl expanded capacities or when Laurus Labs expanded its presence in active pharma ingredients or when Avanti Feeds gained leadership in the products it was exporting, he said.

Anand is now betting on the Digital India theme as he sees platform companies becoming much larger than where they are today.
