The Indian rupee ended sharply higher against the U.S. dollar on Friday, rebounding from near-83 levels.
The local currency opened 0.32% higher at 82.62 against the greenback, gaining as much as 26 paise compared to Thursday's close.
The rupee advanced 0.55% to close at 82.43 on Friday.
The Indian currency had hit a record low of 83.29 on Oct. 20.
