Prabhudas Lilladher Report

We attended the India Mobile Congress 2022 seminar at the momentous event of 5G launch and came back impressed with how telecom operators are very well placed to capitalize on emerging opportunities in manufacturing, healthcare, retail, agriculture etc.

As per Ericsson-Arthur D Little study, 5G will enable Indian mobile service providers to generate $17 billion in incremental revenue from enterprises by 2030.

Further 5G will also polarize market share of two dominant players- Reliance Jio and Bharti Airtel Ltd. from current 80% revenue market share, led by their lead in 5G deployment.

We believe Indian telecom sector is in a virtuous phase and well set for accelerated growth (compound annual growth rate of 17.7% over FY22-25E) primarily led by average revenue per user increase (CAGR of 17.7%).

We are positive for the overall telecom industry in near-medium term.
