Motilal Oswal Report
The government launched the much awaited National Logistics Policy on September 17, 2022 where it emphasised on the need to reduce logistics costs and bring it to global standards. The policy is aimed at developing a technologically enabled, integrated, cost-efficient, and trusted logistics ecosystem for sustainable growth.
The policy reiterated how the support infrastructure is being developed with master programs such as Sagarmala, Bharatmala and dedicated freight corridors underway that could significantly improve logistics connectivity across the country.
Several multimodal logistics parks are being developed across India, which would bring in more efficiency and reduce the turnaround time for transportation.
Over the last few years, there have been several reforms such as paperless EXIM trade process through e-sanchit, faceless assessment for customs, provisions for e-way bills, FASTag, etc. that have improved the efficiency of the logistics sector.
