The key highlights of our September 2022 edition of ‘The Eagle Eye’ are as follows:

  • The Indian market outperformed its global peers on a year-to-date basis and was among the leaders in August 2022. A majority of BSE-200 constituents (81%) ended higher in Aug-22.

  • Foreign institutional investors inflows were at the highest since January 2021. However, domestic institutional investors turned net sellers after 17 months of buying. Average daily cash volumes rose 28% month-on-month to Rs 636 billion in Aug-22. However, it is still 28% lower from its October 2021 high.

  • The spread between Indian and U.S. bond yields stood at 4% – the lowest since February 2017.
