This was the second consecutive month of a decline and in fact the third steepest month-on-month decline since March 2020. However, Nifty has remained resilient in CY22 year-to-date despite the multiple headwinds. Foreign institutional investor outflows have been sharp since January 2022; FIIs recorded outflows for the eighth consecutive month at $4.9 billion. However, the outflows were more than offset by material domestic institutional investor inflows. In May-22, DIIs posted the highest inflows since March-20 at $6.1 billion.
