For Sagar AP, a holiday in Indonesia is meant to be the icing on the cake. At 26, the software company employee has decided to start saving for the future, though he hasn’t yet settled on a specific long-term goal.

A resident of Bengaluru, he earns under Rs 88,000 a month. After expenses, he’s left with an investible surplus of Rs 37,500. He’s been wanting to travel to Indonesia for a while, and to do so, he thinks he’ll need nearly Rs 1 lakh.

Sagar is carefully prioritising his savings and doesn’t want to apportion more than Rs 7,500 a month for his vacation goal.

On this episode of BQPortfolio, Nirav Panchmatia, founder and chief executive officer of AUM Financial Advisors, helps Sagar to get the most out of his investments.
