Billionaire Gautam Adani said that his group is committed to supplying power from its upcoming power project in Jharkhand to Bangladesh by this Dec. 16, marked as Bijoy Dibosh to commemorate Bangladesh’s independence from Pakistan.

“We are committed to commissioning our 1600 MW Godda Power Project and dedicated transmission line to Bangladesh by Bijoy Dibosh, 16 Dec 2022,” he tweeted, sharing his photo with Bangladeshi Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina. She arrived on a four-day India trip on Monday.

The Adani Group is setting up the ultra-supercritical thermal power project of 1,600 MW (2 X 800 MW) through its special purpose vehicle Adani Power (Jharkhand) Ltd.

Bijoy Dibosh commemorates the defeat of the Pakistan armed forces in the Bangladesh Liberation War of 1971.

In India, Hasina will hold wide-ranging talks with Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday following which the two sides are likely to unveil a raft of measures to boost cooperation in areas of defence, trade and river-water sharing.
