Sensex, Nifty At Three-Month High On Gains In Auto, Power Stocks: Market Wrap

The Sensex and Nifty 50 gained for fourth straight session.

India's stock benchmarks closed near their 15-week highs, aided by gains in auto, power, banking, energy, and oil and gas stocks.

The Sensex gained nearly 550 points to close at 58,115.50. The Nifty 50 advanced over 1% to close at 17,340.05. This is their fourth straight session of gains.

This is the first time the Sensex closed above 58,000, while the Nifty 50 reclaimed 17,300 in more than three months.

Of the Nifty 50 constituents, 37 stocks rose, 12 fell, and one remained unchanged.

The broader indices outperformed their larger peers, with both small-cap and mid-cap gauges rising 1.5%.

All the 19 sectoral indices advanced, with auto and power gaining more than 3%.

The market breadth was skewed in favour of the bulls. About 2,305 stocks rose, 1,155 fell, and 196 remained unchanged.
