Indian Rupee Slides Against The U.S. Dollar

It ended 0.4% lower, at 81.63, declining 33 paise over the day.

The Indian rupee depreciated against the U.S. dollar, as the safe haven currency continued to strengthen.

The local currency opened at 81.65, depreciating 0.44% or 35 paise. It closed at 81.30 on Wednesday.

Intraday, the rupee depreciated as much as 0.46% to 81.68. It ended 0.4% lower, at 81.63, declining 33 paise over the day.

The rupee had hit a record low of 83.29 on Oct. 20.
