The Indian rupee has depreciated against the U.S. dollar after five days.
The currency opened 0.03% higher than its previous close at 78.68 against the greenback. Thereafter, it weakened as much as 0.60% to 79.18, before closing at 79.16.
The domestic currency had weakened to a record low beyond 80 twice last month.
