FPIs Enter August As Net Buyers

Overseas investors remained net buyers of Indian equities for the third day in a row, starting last Thursday on July 28.

Overseas investors remained net buyers of Indian equities for the third day in a row on Monday, after derailing four days of continuous selling on July 28.

Foreign portfolio investors net bought equities worth Rs 2,320.61 crore Monday, data from the National Stock Exchange showed.

Domestic institutional investors, however net sold stocks worth Rs 822.23 crore.

Institutions had net bought Rs 3,978.31 crore worth of equities in July and net sold Rs 46,941.69 crore so far this year.

India's stock benchmarks closed near their 15-week highs, aided by gains in auto, power, banking, energy, and oil and gas stocks.

The benchmark S&P BSE Sensex jumped by 2,700 points in the last five days and closed at 58,115 to post the best gain in almost two months. The Nifty 50 closed at 17,340; up by 9.5% in the month of July.
