Mumbai Records Over 5,700 New Cases
Mumbai added 5,708 new Covid-19 cases, 12 deaths and 15,440 recoveries to its tally. The active cases in the financial capital now stand at 22,103.
Karnataka Reports Over 47,700 New Cases
Karnataka reported 47,754 fresh Covid-19 cases, 22,143 recoveries, and 29 deaths in the last 24 hours.
The daily positivity rate stands at 18.48% and active cases are 2,93,231, Karnataka Health Minister Dr K Sudhakar tweeted.
Kerala Single-Day Spike At All-Time High
Kerala reported 46,387 new Covid-19 cases, 15,388 recoveries and 32 deaths in the last 24 hours, ANI reported citing state government data.
Death toll in the state now stands at 51,501. It also confirmed 62 more Omicron positive cases, taking the case tally to 707.
Delhi Reports Over 12,000 New Cases
Delhi recorded 12,306 new Covid-19 cases, 18,815 recoveries and 43 deaths in the last 24 hours, ANI reported citing government data.
The active cases in the national capital now stand at 68,730 with a daily positivity rate of 21.48%.
Maharashtra, Delhi And 4 Others Among The 'States Of Concern'
The government officials in a briefing on Thursday said that Maharashtra, Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, Kerala, Delhi and Uttar Pradesh are among the 'states of concern' during the third wave of coronavirus.
"We have sent Central health teams to these states and are continuously reviewing the situation," Rajesh Bhushan, Health Secretary on Covid-19 situation said during a briefing.
These states also account for the most active cases in India. They are among top 10 states in terms of active cases besides West Bengal, Gujarat, Odisha and Rajasthan, ANI reported citing the Health Secretary.
