India's active Covid-19 infections rose after dropping for five straight days.
The country reported 18,738 new coronavirus cases in the last 24 hours, according to the Health Ministry’s update as of 8 a.m. on Aug. 7. Single-day recoveries stood at 18,558.
New cases outpaced recoveries once again, pushing up the active tally.
