Covid-19 India Updates: Active Cases Rise As New Infections Jump

Active Covid-19 cases in India rose after almost a month as fresh infections outpaced single-day recoveries.

The country added 6,422 new coronavirus cases in the last 24 hours, according to the Health Ministry’s update as of 8 a.m. on Sept. 15.

The active tally stood at 46,389.

• Total confirmed cases: 4,45,16,479

• Total number of active cases: 46,389

• Total patients cured/discharged/migrated: 4,39,41,840

• Total deaths: 5,28,250

• Number of fresh cases in last 24 hours: 6,422

• One-day recoveries: 5,748

• One-day deaths: 34

• Total vaccines administered: 2,15,98,16,124

• Vaccines administered in the last 24 hours: 31,09,550
