India's active coronavirus case tally fell to the lowest in over two months as recoveries outpaced new infections.

The country added 7,231 new coronavirus cases in the last 24 hours, according to the Health Ministry’s update as of 8 a.m. on Aug. 31. There were 10,828 recoveries and 45 deaths during the same period.

Active cases fell further to 64,667--the lowest since June.
