India's active Covid-19 case tally fell slightly as recoveries outpaced new cases.

The country reported 12,751 new coronavirus cases in the last 24 hours, according to the Health Ministry’s update as of 8 a.m. on Aug. 9. Single-day recoveries stood at 16,412. There were 42 deaths in the same period.

Active case tally fell to 1.31 lakh.
