Shapoorji Pallonji Group Chairman Pallonji Mistry Dies At 93
Mistry became a citizen of Ireland in 2003, since marrying his wife Patsy Perin Dubash.
Pallonji Mistry, billionaire industrialist and chairman of the engineering and construction conglomerate Shapoorji Pallonji Group, died early Tuesday at his residence in Mumbai.
He was 93.
"He passed away peacefully on June 28 and is survived by his wife Patsy, daughters Laila Rustom Jehangir, Aloo Noel Tata, sons Shapoor Mistry and Cyrus Mistry, and their respective families," a press statement by the family said.
Mistry and his family are shareholders in Tata Sons Ltd., the holding company of India's largest conglomerate. He was estimated to be worth around $28.9 billion, according to the Bloomberg Billionaires Index, making him the 41st richest person in the world.
Mistry also served on the boards of several companies such as Union Bank of India, WH Brady Group of Companies, the Associated Cement Companies Ltd., of which he was chairman for several years, and Tata Sons.
