Mother Dairy hiked prices of milk for the fourth time this year citing a rise in input costs.

It raised price of of full-cream milk by Re 1 per litre and token milk by Rs 2 per litre in Delhi-NCR effective Nov. 21.

“This year, the entire dairy industry is witnessing a huge gap in the demand and supply of milk. Raw milk availability has been impacted due to the increased cost of feed and fodder, erratic monsoon, etc., putting a stress on raw milk prices," a Mother Dairy's spokesperson said in a statement. "The outgrowing consumption due to a boost in demand this year has led to much higher usage of commodities."

Full cream milk will now cost Rs 64 per litre and token milk's price is hiked to Rs 50 per litre. There's no change in the price of 500ml packs of full cream milk.

The ongoing mismatch in the demand-supply, even after the festive season, has further led to firming of raw milk prices, the statement said. The revision in prices is aimed to continue to support the farmers with "right remuneration" while ensuring quality milk for consumers.
