Maruti Suzuki India Ltd. has finalised the land site for a new manufacturing plant in Haryana that can produce 2.5 lakh vehicles a year.

In the first phase, India’s largest carmaker plans to invest over Rs 11,000 crore, according to an exchange filing. The site, it said, will have space for capacity expansion to include more manufacturing plants in the future.

The plant, expected to be commissioned by 2025, will be set up an 800-acre site in IMT Kharkhoda in Sonipat district, subject to administrative approvals.

The Haryana State Industrial and Infrastructure Development Corp. or HSIIDC, a nodal agency of the state department to accelerate pace of industrialisation, has made the land allotment to develop the plant.
