Shiv Sena Leaders Hold Meetings In Constituencies Of Rebel MLAs

Shiv Sena leaders addressed meetings in the constituencies of three rebel MLAs in Aurangabad region in a show of support for Maharashtra Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray.

Sena leaders Chandrakant Khaire, Vinod Ghosalkar and MLC Ambadas Danve addressed party workers in Vaijapur, Aurangabad West and Aurangabad Central seats, which are represented by Ramesh Bornare, Sanjay Shirsat and Pradip Jaiswal, respectively.

They said similar meetings are also planned in the Assembly constituencies of Sandipan Bhumre (Paithan) and Abdul Sattar (Sillod).

No Order Barring Maharashtra Floor Test: Supreme Court

The Supreme Court has refused to pass any interim order on plea that there should not be any floor test in Maharashtra Legislative Assembly till July 11.

"We can't pass order on floor test as that would create unnecessary complications," it said.

SC Asks Maharashtra To Protect Life, Liberty Of Rebel Shiv Sena MLAs

The Supreme Court has recorded the statement of the Standing Counsel of Maharashtra Government that adequate steps have been taken and the state government will further ensure that no harm is caused to the life, liberty, or property of the MLAs and their family members.

The court did so on the request of providing security to 39 MLAs alleging threat.

Supreme Court Issues Notices In Response To Eknath Shinde's Plea

The Supreme Court has issued notices to Deputy Speaker, Secretary of Maharashtra State Legislative Assembly, the Centre and others on pleas filed by rebel MLAs against the disqualification notice issued by the Deputy Speaker Narhari Zirwal against Eknath Shinde and 15 other rebel legislators.

The plea also challenged the appointment of Ajay Chaudhary as the Shiv Sena's legislative leader in the House, in response to which the Supreme Court also issued notices to Shiv Sena leaders Ajay Chaudhary, Sunil Prabhu and asks them to file a reply within five days.

The next hearing is lined up for July 11.

Uddhav Thackeray Reassigns Portfolios Of 9 Ministers

Maharashtra Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray handed over portfolios of nine ministers, who are camping in Guwahati with Eknath Shinde, to other ministers.

The departments have "reshuffled so that the issues of public interest are not neglected or ignored", his office said.

MVA Has Lost Majority In The House: Shinde

Rebel MLA Eknath Shinde in his petition filed in the Supreme Court said the Maha Vikas Aghadi government has lost the majority in the house as 38 of the members of the Shiv Sena Legislature Party have withdrawn their support.

PIL Filed Against Rebel Shiv Sena MLAs

A public interest litigation has been filed against Eknath Shinde and other rebel Shiv Sena MLAs in the Bombay High Court for "neglecting" their official duties and seeking directions to them to resume office.
