TVS Moto Sales Rise 10.7% In July
TVS Motor Company Ltd., reported a 10.7% rise in total sales to 2,78,855 units in July over last month, the company said in a statement.
The Chennai-based two and three-wheeler maker had sold a total of 2,51,886 units in June.
The company said the demand in export market continues to be robust, and the container availability is improving.
Other Highlights (M-o-M)
The total two-wheeler sales during the month stood at 2,62,728 units as against 2,38,092 units last month.
The domestic two-wheeler sales stood at 1,75,169 units in July.
Motorcycles sales stood at 1,38,772 units in July.
Scooter sales rose to 74,351units from 54,595 units in June.
Ashok Leyland Sells 8,650 Units In July
Ashok Leyland Ltd. reported an overall sales of 8,650 units in July, an increase of 34% over June, according to the company’s exchange filings.
Domestic sales rose to 8,129 units from 5,851 units in June.
Domestic medium and heavy commercial vehicle sales rose to 3,473 units from 2,364 units in June.
M&M Auto Sales Rise, Tractor Drops
Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd., auto segment posted an overall sales of 42,983 units in July, an increase of 30% over June.
M&M’s passenger car sales rise 24.43% over June to 21,046 units in July.
Commercial vehicle sales rise 47.4% over June to 19,814 units in July.
"We have seen significant increase in activity levels, enquiries and as a result, sales across our product portfolio," Veejay Nakra, CEO of Automotive Division at M&M, added.
Nakra said supply of semiconductors continues to be a global issue and the firm is doing everything to address it on priority.
The Farm Equipment segment however saw a drop as the tractor sales fell 43.53% over July to 27,229 units.
"We continue to stay bullish on tractor demand in the coming months owing to revival of monsoon, hike in MSP of key Kharif crops & upcoming festival season," Hemant Sikka, President of the Farm Equipment sector at M&M added.
Hero MotoCorp Sales Fall 3% In July
India's largest two-wheeler manufacturer, Hero MotoCorp Ltd. sold 4,54,398 units in July, the company said in an exchange filing.
Hero MotoCorp's sales fell 3% over the last month led by decline in sales of the motorcycle segment. The company in the statement added that localised lockdowns imposed by certain states due to second wave continues to restrict the customer movement.
"India’s rural economy and semi-urban market is expected to bounce back on the hopes of good monsoon and customers’ preference for personal mobility," company said in the statement.
Hero MotoCorp added that it continues to monitor the situation closely and remain optimistic about continuously improving consumer sentiment in the coming months with the onset of the festive season.

Scooter sales however rose to 30,272 units in July from 27,624 units in June.
Bajaj Auto Sales Rise 6.6% Month-On-Month
Bajaj Auto Ltd. reported a pickup in July sales as it sold 3,69,136 units, an increase of 6.6% over June, according to its exchange filing.

Total domestic two-wheeler sales rose 0.3% to 1,56,232 units.
Total two-wheeler exports rose 12.5% to 1,74,337 units.
Total commercial vehicle sales rose 8.40% to 38,547 units.
