Indian Rupee Nears 80/$ As It Hits New Low For Fourth Day In A Row

The Indian rupee depreciated against the U.S. dollar to hit a new low for the fourth straight day.

The domestic currency slid as much as 0.36% on Thursday to 79.92 against the greenback, before trimming losses to close at 79.88.

In the previous session, the rupee had ended at 79.63.

The rupee's depreciation coincides with the Euro sliding below dollar parity on Wednesday for the first time in 20 years.
