India To Be Relatively Immune To Recession, Valentis' Jyotivardhan Jaipuria Says

Over the next five years, India will be the fastest growing economy among the top 20 peers globally, said Jyotivardhan Jaipuria. India will be relatively immune to recession, said Jaipuria on the sidelines of the BQ Prime Future Today Summit.

Domestic-oriented sectors will do well while export-oriented sectors will face challenges due to demand slowdown, Jaipuria, the founder and managing director of Valentis Advisors, said.

Within domestic-oriented sectors, his top bets are financials, autos and capital goods.

Jaipuria is also bullish on defence as an emerging sector. As the sector opens up to private players, he expects more orders over the next five to 10 years. It will be a "can you supply enough, because the demand is already there" situation for the private players, he said.
