Elon Musk Sets $8 A Month Fee For Twitter Blue Tick Verification
Days after completing the takeover of microblogging site, Elon Musk seeks to add a revenue stream.
Elon Musk said that blue-tick verification on Twitter will cost users $8 a month as he seeks to add a revenue stream, days after completing the $44-billion takeover of microblogging site.
Twitter's current "lord and peasants system" will be changed, he tweeted. The cost of $8 a month “will include paywall bypass, priority in replies, mentions, and search, ability to post long audio and video and reduce ads on the platform”.
The price is adjusted by country proportionate to purchasing power parity. This will give Twitter a revenue stream to "reward content creators", he said.
Twitterâs current lords & peasants system for who has or doesnât have a blue checkmark is bullshit.
