Ananth Narayan Appointed Whole-Time Member At SEBI

Professor Gopalakrishnan has been appointed as a whole-time member of SEBI for three years.

Ananth Narayan Gopalakrishnan, an associate professor at SP Jain Institute of Management & Research, has been appointed as a whole-time member of the Securities and Exchange Board of India.

Narayan will hold office for a period of three years from the date he assumes charge or under further orders, whichever is earlier, the Department of Personnel and Training said in a circular.

Apart from being an associate professor at SP Jain, he also holds the post of public interest director for the NSE IFSC GIFT City in Gujarat and for the National Securities Clearing Corporation.

Having served in the capacity of an additional director nominated by RBI on the board of Yes Bank, Narayan is currently on the boards as an Independent Director at SBI Capital Markets Ltd., Clearcorp Dealing Systems Ltd., CARE Ratings Ltd., Agappe Diagnostics Ltd., Southern Ridges Macro Fund, and Southern Ridges Master Macro Fund.

Earlier, he was a member of SEBI’s Mutual Fund Advisory Committee, FICCI’s Capital Markets Committee, NSE Clearing Ltd.’s Risk Management Committee, and Kerala Infrastructure Fund Management Ltd.’s Investment Committee.

Narayan has 24 years of experience in banking and financial markets, starting with Citibank, Deutsche Bank, and Standard Chartered Bank.
