Equity markets swung between extremes as the pandemic ravaged the global economy in 2020. Financial advisers suggest that investors should consider quality stocks that have the potential to deliver over the long-term to protect themselves against such volatility.

BloombergQuint's analysis of returns threw up a list of 12 stocks that have outperformed the benchmark S&P BSE Sensex, not just in 2020 but over different time frames in the last decade and a half to create wealth for investors.

Selection Criteria:

  • A market capitalisation of at least Rs 20,000 crore.
  • Outperformed the Sensex over one, three, five, 10 and 15 years.
  • The stock must have returned at least twice the benchmark during each of these time frames.

The list includes index heavyweight Reliance Industries Ltd. to mid caps such as Aarti Industries Ltd. and Ipca Laboratories Ltd.

Here are the 12 consistent wealth creators and how each fared in the last 15 years.

12-Month Potential

Most of the stocks have already surpassed their target prices. And they may be up for re-rating once the December-quarter results are out.
