Management quality is the first factor that investor Tariq Hussain considers before selecting a stock.

Annual reports and management interviews follow, according to Hussain, a former investment banker at Goldman Sachs. Numbers, he said, come last.

Hussain also sticks to the areas where he has expertise and does not invest in all the attractive themes.
